Is there any type of fish I'm not supposed to feed my 9 month old yet?

You can introduce baby to fish with white flesh first. White flesh fish is easily digested and ranks low on the list of allergens. Cold water fish have more Omega 3 fatty acids but with the least amount of mercury. Try pomfret, trout, cod or sole. Offer only one type of fish at a time to your baby, initially. If your baby shows no signs of an allergy or problems after eating the fish, introduce other types of fish to his/her diet. Make sure to always buy fish from reputable places. If you are buying fresh fish, the gills should be red and the skin should be clean, clear and firm when you press it. If the fish smells bad, do not buy it. http://www.babycenter.in/a1017300/how-and-when-should-i-introduce-fish-to-my-baby#ixzz46vIUXsBx

Avoid giving fishes with high mercury level for babies. Fishes that consist high mercury level would be ' Batang, Tuna" Try giving Deep Sea Fishes or Fishes with high omega fat which is good for their brain and eye development. I purposely give Threadfin fish to my kids. Salmon is a great alternative too. http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/introducingfishtobaby.htm
