Indian mothers are also given ajwain water (carom seeds water) to drink after delivery as it is said that it helps in the cleansing of the uterus. Does it really help?

From what I’ve read, ajawin water is often believed to be beneficial in aiding recovery after birth. It seemed to help with relieving back pain, promotes internal body healing, and also help increases milk production for breastfeeding mothers. Though the effectiveness may not have been studied scientifically (or I have not read any studies on this), it is not harmful to the body and hence, I think there is no harm in trying it. i am not sure if it can cleanse the uterus, but ajwain, or carom seeds, do have a lot of benefits. they can help relieve any body pain, improve digestion, aid in lactatin, prevents acidity and also prevent colic in babies who are breastfed. you can have a look here: http://www.thehealthsite.com/diseases-conditions/top-10-health-benefits-of-ajwain/
