Clingy 16 month old boy

I’m pregnant with my second baby which is due soon in December. Recently my 16 month old boy is very clingy to me. He will wail whenever I’m not right beside him. It has come to a point where it’s impossible for me to do anything else at home but to be beside him or carry him when I do the house work. Do you think he can sense that his attention will soon be shared?

Thank you for the response! While it’s a bit frustrating that I literally cannot do much with him velcroing onto me all the time, I’m gonna miss him being my only child. Quite sad to think that his attention will be divided but I’ll try my best to spend as much time with him. The article shared is helpful too 😃

I think babies can sense! But you can reassure him and introduce the “older sibling” love and responsibility to him. He might enjoy it!!
