I'm not sure that I'm bonding with my baby. Isn't this something that's supposed to happen automatically?

I agree with Diana, breastfeeding intensifies the bonding between mother and child. I've seen this on my wife and my daughter. From the very start that she was born, they're almost inseparable. The baby is always looking for the warmth and scent of her mother.
