I read that you're not supposed to wear deodorant and perfume when you have a newborn to help with bonding. How many practiced this? Is it true?

As newborns, he relies on his sense of smell and touch for familiarity as his sight is not well developed yet. As a matter of fact, the placenta (when your baby was in you) takes on odor of the things you eat so his name will be of full use when he's out :) Your smell will give him a sense of security and will help to calm and settle down. Should you put on perfume, it may confuse your baby. Also, as babies' skin are delicate as a newborn, he/she may develop an adverse reaction to it.
