Nausea and lonely

I'm in my week 14+. I feel nausea everyday and vomit quite abit even though gynae prescribed me meds to take. I feel very lonely in this pregnancy, like no one understands me and what i am going through. I have lost 8+kg. I do feel depressed at times. I am not sure what to do to help myself out of this situation. Help mummies!

I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through such a tough time. Nausea and vomiting during pregnancy can be really challenging, especially when it feels like nobody around you understands what you're going through. It's completely normal to feel lonely and depressed in this situation, but please know that you're not alone. First of all, I want to encourage you to keep taking the medication prescribed by your gynae, as it can really help with managing the nausea and vomiting. If you find that the medication isn't helping as much as you'd like, don't hesitate to reach out to your doctor again to discuss other options. In addition to the medical aspect, it's also important to take care of your mental and emotional well-being. Finding a support system can make a huge difference. Whether it's talking to friends or family members who have been through similar experiences, joining a local pregnancy support group, or even seeking professional help from a therapist or counselor, having someone to lean on can help alleviate some of the loneliness and depression you're feeling. As for the weight loss, it's essential to monitor it closely and speak to your gynae about any concerns you may have. They might recommend certain dietary changes or supplements to ensure both you and your baby are getting the nutrients you need. Remember to take things one day at a time and be kind to yourself. Pregnancy is a rollercoaster of emotions and physical changes, and it's okay to feel overwhelmed. You're doing an amazing job, and things will get better. Hang in there, mama! https://invl.io/cll6she

thank you for your encouragement

Same here. I didn’t have a good pregnancy experience. Vomiting all day long, can’t take any food or even water nor energy drink. I’m so weak that’s I find all kinds of things just to make sure I have the energy to go through the day, like watermelon. Chinese believe that eating watermelon is not good for baby as they are too cold, so many time I find myself been alone and don’t feel been understand. I too lost 10kg. I was so weak to even walk for regular checkup. around week 16 after taking urine test which shows dehydration, my gyne suggest to do 24hr fasting with IV drop I admitted to the hospital and stay for 3 days. I feel better on the 3rd day. First time realise plain water can taste so delicious but my nausea didn’t end until third trimester and gradually began to be able to take in food and water then gain back my weight. I was so worry for my baby’s growth. But she continue to gain weight normally and born a healthy 3.2kg. I suggest to do a urine check and request for IV drop.

I went hospital twice for drips. I feel better during drips but the cycle starts once I'm out of the hospital again. thank you for sharing your experience!

Hi there, so sorry to hear youre gg thru such a tough time. Tbh our feelings are valid. Dont ever feel bad for feeling lonely or needy. Our body is made to grow a human and is currently gg through a lot of changes, emotionally mentally and physically. I felt lonely too during my entire pregnancy eventho my husband is around all the time and i have friends that i talk to everyday. Try to explore things, do things that makes you happy. Watch a kdrama, a variety show. Find things that makes u happy and contented before pregnancy! Eat food that makes u happy ( try to maintain a healthy diet tho and eat junkfood in moderation haha bcos whenever i feel like s*** i find solace in good food > good mood eventho eventually i will vomit everything out! ) best to keep hydrated as always. One step at a time, embrace this pregnancy under whatever circumstances and find enjoyment in the littlest thing! By you growing a tiny human, is a pat on your back. Youre doing well mummy. Jiayo!

thank you for your kind words

It’s not easy! We understand because we are also going through it (though I didn’t lose so much weight). Rmb to reach out to your preggy friends, close friends, fam to distract yourself when you feel low. if they are not available, try counsellor. Having someone to understand you and go through this with you is super important! List 3 things you have done well or to be grateful for everyday. It helps me to think positively. Most importantly, always prioritize yourself ok! You and your baby is the most impt now. Jiayou!
