Hello! I'm in my first trimester with my second child and I am experiencing a very bad swollen gums. Visited a dentist earlier because I cannot bear the pain. They gave me a mouthwash to ease the pain. With my first child i had mild swollen gums too which is not so bad. Any Mummies experiencing the same thing too?

- I am in my third trimester, I had a very bad toothache. I had it during my first and second trimester. How do I stop the pain.. I had taken panadol because the pain is really unbearable. But medicine like not taking effect. The pain still there... pls help...
I think u should go to a dentist. The hormones during pregnancy can cause us to have sensitive gums and teeth and also more susceptible to gingivitis among other things. I think u Shld get it check and see if there is anything that can be fixed about it and do so soon least u have to endure all the way till after confinement. On the side note, frequent / constant pain can increase ur stress level which is not good for the baby too (affect ur "tai Qi" in Chinese) and could affect ur delivery slightly. So get it checked and fixed or see what else the dentist can do for uAnonymous
- Hi mummies, I am down with a bad flu and already went to see the doctor. He gave me some mild antibiotics, fever/pain medicine and lozenges. Any mummies out there also had flu and went on to deliver a healthy baby? First time mummy here, so I am very worried.Anonymous
- Hi mummies to be, I'm wondering if anyone is experiencing joint pain in their fingers? I've been having stiff and swollen joints in my hands the past few days, and it's gotten to a point where it's too painful to hold things or even type. Wondering if anyone has gone through the same thing? Is it safe to visit a chiropractor or TCM for spinal/bone adjustment? Or just leave it alone till I give birth? I don't think my gynae can help me with this except to prescribe painkillers... ?
U can also use TENs machine ( check that it is safe for pregnancy) which send electric Impulses to the area of the soreness or pain. If u cannot afford one, u can rent from mother and child shop.My wife did that and it helped her get through the aches and painsSharon L
