English name at the back or front?

Hey all, I’m gonna register for my kid’s birth cert. do you all put their English name at the back or front? For example, Tan Ah Kao John, or John Tan Ah Kao? also in any case, what would their first names be? Ah Kao John or John ah Kao? Cause for sure the last name will be Tan. Please advise. Thanks!

I put English name first and followed by surname. For example, John Tan. But I did not include Ah Kao but did registered Chinese characters Tan Ah Kao. John Tan Ah Kao - First name is John, Middle name is Ah Kao then last name is Tan Tan Ah Kao John - First name is Ah Kao, Middle name is John, then last name is Tan

I choose my girl's name to follow mine. Surname first as traditionally according to my mom, she say don't forget our ancestor. Which I think it's nice to keep it that way.
