Baby measuring small at 36 weeks

Hi. I’m going into my 36 weeks soon and I went for my usual routine scan yesterday. (35+5). Gynae says that baby is measuring small at about 2.2kg :( my previous scan at 31weeks, baby was around 1.5kg. So she said baby’s growth is slow and should be more than 2.5kg by now. she also told me that it’s not because I’m not eating enough because blood test shows that it’s my placenta “ageing” earlier than expected. She suggested inducing my baby at 38 weeks if baby’s growth is stagnant due to my incompetent placenta. Any advices or anyone who went through the same thing as me?

When I went for my 36 weeks visit, my baby was 1.7Kg, my doctor was real angry. My baby was on small side, but from week 34-36 my baby didn’t grow at all. My diet was okay during that time. My doctor told me he doesn’t care what I do he wanted my baby’s weight up. He told me protein is the solution, I can take any form of it. He offered me HL, he said my focus should be on baby. I was sad, I asked around. Luckly it was Durian season(pls note I didn’t have diabetes issue), and I ate 1 box durian everyday for the next week plus, 1 chicken breast daily. Then in 1 week we managed to bring up the babies weight above 2Kg. I continued with chicken breast daily till week 40. My doctor asked me to induce at W40D1 as he suspected that placenta was not supporting my baby. End of the story he was born at Week 40 Day 2 at 2.49Kg. They kept him in NICU as they wanted to monitor due to low weight gain. He was fine and healthy, except that he was a tall skinny baby 😅
