Birth control pill or condom to prevent pregnancy

I just wen thru csect and wonder which is better in preventing future pregnancy? Birth control pill or condom? Assuming will only do the deed on nonovulating days

nonovulating days then condom is enough. birth control pill is very effective but have to remember to eat it everyday, and it might have side effects.
