Anyone tried these Japanese strawberries before? $98!

I spotted a crazy expensive box of Japanese strawberries at Markeplace supermarket at paragon. Wondering what’s the difference between regular strawberries and premium strawberries. And how come it can command such a premium?

Japan is famous for their crazy expensive fruits, you can buy strawberries or melons for 500++ dollars 😅. Ive never tried but I heard those are the best of the best, highly selective and the taste would be much better also. Not sure if worth it though.

Don Don Donki is selling 8-9 strawberries for $15.80, quite nice. My daughters finished two boxes in 4 days' time.
