IFC registration

Hello! May I know when’s a good time to start looking or registering for IFC placements? I’m currently in my second trimester and would ideally want to have a spot when my maternity leave ends.

applied through ECDA, put on waiting list, then they say the listed preschool will get back to me, but after 1 week also never, cause not near the month for the child to be registered yet. So just in case, I started calling up all the schools nearby, cause baby born next month aledy, they alert them that I really serious about putting the child in their school and check what's the situation . Email no use one, they don't check. Just start calling.

I used to be in the preschool industry so I would recommend you start calling up schools and asking about their waitlist now. If you can, also good to start with centre visit. Cause even if there is a spot open, it may or may not be what you’re looking for. So good to have some time to look around and find what you like too.

They say need to apply 1 year early but in the website can only start regiaster 3 months before edd which by then alot of slots taken up. Im also in 2nd trim and most of the slots are either not available or only available in 1 year timr

I believe you can only indicate your interest 3 months before EDD. At least, that seems to be the case for the public IFCs. Good to ask the IFC directly to be certain.

My first skool

Can start to book appointment for centre tour, and if you like the school can put baby on waiting list. I did that when I was in early 2nd trimester

I register interest in my last trimester and now baby 4 months still no slots. It really depends on which location you are at.

Now! Ideally is 1 year in advance, but since you’re in second trimester, best to apply now.
