KKH B2 vs C ward

Hi, I have been informed both are 6 beds .Class C is open corridor. So I expect it to be more noisy less rest for mummy. However , only 1 visitor allowed nowadays due to Covid. So I am considering to go to C ward to save money. Is the care by Docs and Nurses the same? Any mummy recently warded can share experience?

Actually if you don’t mind a shared common toilet and have other mummies and babies to look at for 2-3 days, the just go for C ward to save money. You’re just gonna be there for a few days, don’t need to bother about the noise or shared toilet. You go malls also need to share toilet, isn’t it? And the toilet is clean, don’t worry. And what’s rest/sleep after you give birth? Don’t worry so much, get the nurses to help you with baby. Also bear in mind that now KKH encourage babies to room in with mummies meaning your little precious bundle of joy will be with you 24/7 during your stay. Like it or not, you gotta learn how to handle your crying baby AND get some rest. At least when you have room mates around you, not so boring. Can probably learn a thing or two on how they’re managing their own babies as well. You need privacy? Just close the curtain as and when you like, simple. Need help while having the curtains closed, ring the bell. The nurses are super helpful and friendly. I gave birth Oct 2020 and chose B2 and was hospitalised for a week due to complications which I didn’t expect at all. Wanted to go for natural but in the end had to undergo emergency c-sect. Post-pregnancy I developed pre-eclampsia which I had no problems with my health throughout my pregnancy. My bill size alone was $11+k and baby bill size was $2+k. Lucky for me I had hospital insurance so the excess of $4+k after govt grant was all covered by my insurance. I was also given $900 cash for daily hospital stay and $1+k cash reimbursed back (instead of reimbursed back to Medisave) for all the baby appts I went. Damn right I was happy when I received the total bills and Cheques. Hahaha So… good luck to you!

Hi I wouldn’t recommend C class. Or any wards that have more than 2 beds. Aside from visitors, you will have so many crying babies around you and you won’t have a good rest. This is the only time to rest (1-2 days admission) as there are nurses to look aft ur baby. Until u go home and you’re on your own. So pls take this time to rest. It’s so impt for your mental well being. I’m in KKH but will be going to private when I’m delivering. Maybe 2 bedder will be a better choice.

hi mummy, I took C ward in KKH previously (B wards was full at that time)... the nurses were amazing, they were so kind and thoughtful (I can see that they are exhausted but they nvr neglect me one/the other patients at all). some of my mummies friends had bad experience though...

depends on the hospitals.. like me delivered at hospital shah alam..dont know what class i get cause it depend on free bed..get 2 bed for 1 room.. the total pay only rm25 for 2 days😅😅

Do not take c class, take b class better .. c class my friend told me all share only 1 toilet and no privacy. Irregardless b or c class u can use ur medisave to pay full.
