Toddler Heartbeat too fast

Just hugged my toddler and casually listened to his heartbeat and it was beating super fast! Any idea why is this so?

Hey mama, From what I’ve read, children 2 years and younger have a higher metabolism and their heart generally beats faster. Not sure how old your tot is but here’s a great guide: https://www.webmd.com/children/children-vital-signs
