Hi

How much will a gynecologist cost? Can I go to one directly after knowing I'm pregnant.

Yes, you can book an appointment once you know you’re pregnant:) but they will usually schedule you in at about 7-8 weeks gestational age. The cost depends on whether you choose to be a private patient or subsidised patient (even in public hospitals). For private patients in public hospitals, the first consult is $100+, subsequent ones are slightly less (You might want to set aside about $2000 for the consults). In public hospitals, the cost of scans and blood tests plus vaccinations/medicines will come up to close to $2000 too. The subsidised rate (but different doctors each time) is much cheaper (sorry I don’t know the latest rates). Dr Qi Maili from KKH is really nice.. although I don’t know if she has any slots left.

Yes, you can go see one. For private, the first visit plus supplements will be at least $200. Of you are financially tight, you can go to a polyclinic and request a referral to public hospitals. It’s definitely cheaper but you cannot choose your gynaecologist.

Yes of cos! I went to book my gynae the moment my home test kit show positive. 1st check up was about close to 200 with supplements. Now depend on how much your gynae charge. Mine is at Glen E.
