How do I explain coding to a 5 year old child?

Coding is a type of language. Just like we use English in everyday life to communicate with each other, we use coding to talk to computers and machines. The games we play on our phone and computers were created by game developers who use code to tell the computer what happens during different parts of the game. Without code the computer does not know what to do and there will be no games.
