A baby’s umbilical cord will gradually drop off within a week. In the meantime, keep it clean and dry at all times. Cleaning it simply involve dampening a cotton wool or bud with cooled boiled water to clean the cord. Clean in an upwards motion from the base and changing to a new clean piece after each bath or when it is wet. Because my baby she's always crying makes some sounds while she's sleeping

I used a alcohol wipe once a day just to dry it out. You don't want to dry it out to fast tho so don't do it to much.
