How do you disinfect this kinda thing? Neighbour gave us a set but it's old and dusty. Do you wipe the entire thing with disinfectant?

I would Soak the balls in pails with warm soapy water and assuming it's not yet assembled, bring it into the shower and scrub it with sponge and soap and rinse off with warm water.
