When did you introduce comfort blanket/toy/lovey to your baby?

And how did you introduce? Cos I read that not supposed to have loose items in the cot until baby is 1..But I see babies with their comfort items younger than 1? Thanks

My daughter only started having her own comfort toy around 18m, before that she don’t really use or have any preference for a favourite toy/blanket to sleep. (I gave her the toy around 4m)
