How do you convince your child to participate in inter-school competitions?

I think for this, straightaway making him face the big challenge start from small. From the beginning you must expose your child to participate in activities, and that may be by sending your child to dance classes, skating classes, football classes or any group sports or activity. Take your kid to the park and let him play with more and more children so that he is comfortable with the environment of so many people around and lie the whole feel of participating. And gradually, when the same thing will happen in school, he will be keen on doing it as he is familiar with the whole scenario and he knows that it is fun. At home also as a family you can have quiz, on the name of the countries, number, names etc., and inculcate the quality of participation in your kid. https://www.competitivedge.com/parentscoaches-guides-13-steps-being-winning-parent

Id say I never force my kids to do so but yes there are times when I do try to encourage them. I generally choose competitions that I know are of interest to them so it's easier to convince. You can tell them that not only will it be a learning experience where your kid can meet other kids with similar interests, but in case your kid does well it will also be a very exciting and proud moment

The child might not be inclined to participate in all activities. Some kids have stage fear too. Encourage him to participate without worrying about the results. Always motivate him, no matter if he wins or loses. Eventually he will be more confident in participating..

Share your own experience with your child, there would be a possibility of finding a good friend who shares the same interest. It's always good to experiment until you realise what exactly you want to do. This might help the child enjoy the inter-school competitions.

Incentive always helps! For example, I have recently come across a parent-child quiz that you might be interested in. It's call Dell Champs, and there's a Rs.1 Lakh scholarship up for grabs. You might want to have a look at it: http://bit.ly/2bbcqn0 Hope it helps!

First, i will see if they are interested in a particular sport. Second, check if the school facilitates training for sports development activities.

Understand where their interest lies, then i'm sure you wouldn't have to take much effort in convincing them.
