New vs Hand-me-down

A FTM here. Just want to know do you prefer everything new for your baby or will you accept hand me downs ie clothes and such?

I’m also a FTM and also looking at both hands me down & new stuffs. As Long as the hands me down Is safe/ usable, I will take it!
