i never dared to buy those off shelves medication for cough as i won't be sure of the dosage. I would advise you to bring your child to a doc. Need not to be a PD, a normal GP will do. Or you can also try some natural remedies like Manuka Honey

i give a few doses of Woods for kid if the cough is really bad. avoid milk, they will recover fast, pd told me to replace with soya bean milk (he said some vitasoy is ok) if my kid MUST drink 'milk' i followed his suggestion and it worked.

Same as what Ling suggested, I would give prospan too as it's made of leaf and herb extract. You should try to avoid citrus for your LO diet as citrus fruits will induce more phlegm which makes them cough even more.

I stick with prospan. It's made from leaf and herb extract. Natural remedy. You can get iI off shelf.
