My daughter, 5 years old, was found to have astig and had to wear spectacles. Was it a cause of poor eye care or it was hereditary? As both my husband and I have astig.

Both of my parents have perfect eye sight but I have astigmatism since I was young. I had very bad eye health habits as a kid and I reckon this had more to contribute to my astigmatism that anything else. I have my astigmatism under control though, with glasses and contact lenses.
