HI Elise, Compassionate parenting is a part of positive parenting. Compassion is giving love and kindness to a child, even when the child makes mistakes or does something wrong, as they are doing the best they can from their understanding of the world. They don't have the ability and capability yet to think like adults. So as parents we can teach them and provide them guidance, set rules and boundaries. Positive Parenting includes nurturing and developing a child mentally, physically and emotionally using compassion in the process so that they develop a strong healthy belief deep within their hearts that they are loved and are lovable. This will build them up to have mental resilience, become self-confident and have a healthy self-esteem and positive attitude towards life.
