What do you do when your child throws a tantrum in public?

My boy got test my patience, at bus stop some more. Just because I told him to wait until evening then can go buy Mcd. Tantrums occur. I just tell him to let out all the angers he feel inside, I am willing to wait until another bus come. Then I ask him to drink water. Hahaha
