Can babies eat tofu?

It is recommended that tofu could be introduced to babies older than eight months of age. This is because it is a protein food and may be more difficult to digest for younger babies. Also, as it is a soy product, it should not be fed to babies with an allergy to soy. Tofu can be prepared in different ways and would be a good addition to a baby’s meal. My cousin often cooks it in soup or stir-fries it for a simple meal. She also tried making “tofu patty” by mashing the tofu and combining with breadcrumbs, some onions and a vegetable puree. Another cooking method she has tried was to blend it with sweet potato and carrots.
