TIPID TIPS

Been seeing posts about refrigeration / airconditioning / washing machine tipid tips, so I thought of sharing this comment I made on a similar thread from weeks ago. General Rule about AIRCONDITIONERS: 1 - know the appropriate size ng ac sa size ng room na papalamigin. better din if the room is well insulated. 2 - wag bukas ng bukas ng pinto. so the more na sumisingaw ang lamig thru opening doors, the more na aandar yung compressor the more na mas lalakas consumption ng kuryente. 3 - sinasabi ng iba mas mababa mas ok, pero in reality, it doesnt matter anong temp ng ac mo, ang aircon imemaintain lang naman nya yung desired temperature na pinili mo, once it goes higher (uminit) than your desired temp, aandar ang compressor to cool it down to the temp you selected. 4 - proper aircon maintenance, ideally cleaning is every 3mos. mas madalas ginagamit mas madalas ang deepclean dapat. depende din yan sa living conditions. mas dusty na area or if may pets inside the house mas madalas ang cleaning. remember if mas madumi ang ac mas hirap ang compressor to function. 5 - if you want na makatipid, get an auto-switcher na adaptor, panther has it sa ace hardware, you set a timer until the ac shuts off and yung fan naman ang papalit na aandar. sa duration nalang ng andar ng ac nagkakatalo yan given na you checked the tips i mentioned above. 🙂 6 - INVERTER DEVICE MYTH: Ive been reading theories na the more you use the device daw the more na nakakatipid daw sa kuryente — WRONG! Ang rule ng Meralco, regardless if inverter yan or not, the more kWh you consume, the higher the rate is per kWh. Pero by science, mas mura ang watt consumption ng inverter devices than regular ones. In short, matagal or mabilis man ang gamit ng inverter device it would definitely be cheaper than the consumption ng non-inverter padin. same goes sa fridge, the more na empty ang ref the more na mabilis nya na hindi mareretain ang temp sa loob, kaya advisable na may laman kahit yelo ang freezer kasi may naghehelp magsustain ng temp. wag din iooverload otherwise di magcicirculate ang lamig sa loob and the compressor will be triggered to work continuously. Tandaan nyo lang itong rule ng ac/ref: Wala sa setting ng temp ang energy efficiency nya. Nasa condition ng device, nasa capacity nya to cool down the room or the contents and nasa duration ng pag andar nya nakasalalay kung malakas sya or hindi sa energy consumption. RECOMMENDED AC BRANDS NA SIGURADONG VALUE FOR MONEY: Carrier, Kelvinator, Koppel. Sa Ref: Westinghouse, Condura, GE ang sulit, hindi mabilis kalawangin yung body. Remember buying a refrigerator o an AC unit is an investment, mga reliable na brands are less sakit ng ulo, madaming cheaper na brands pero mej matakaw sa maintenance (mahal magparepair ng rusted out parts ng ac or ref) so if you plan to buy one, pag ipunan nalang yung magandang brand na kasi pangmatagalan naman na to. ADDITIONAL INFO ON WASHING MACHINES NAMAN: sa washing machine, front load ones are more economical in terms of soap and water consumption kesa sa topload washing machine. automatic / manual - for apparent reasons, mas convenient ang automatic kasi di mo need bantayan, kesa sa manual na babalik balikan mo once in a while. energy consumption — same rule applies kung inverter or not. sa energy consumption malakas magconsume yung may tumble/air dry function kesa sa spin lang. end of the day, its good to keep a front loading - automatic machine with air/tumble dry function lalo pag tag ulan na, walang hirap magpatuyo ng labada. pag summer naman you can opt na until spin lang sya if may time kayo magsampay pa. but for busy people, nanays especially, mas convenient, time conserving and less stress yung itutupi nalang paglabas ng machine. in the long run mas makakamura ka coz you save time & effort, mas madami kang magagawa pa while naglalaba mag isa yung machine mo. 🙂 in choosing the size ng machine: that depends anong klaseng clothes ang usual na washload nyo. plus consider the type of other stuff you launder, like bedsheets, may comforters ba, curtains, etc. kasi ako yun ang consideration ko in choosing which one. better to get a larger capacity than to make multiple rounds ng smaller capacities, mas magastos sa tubig, kuryente at sabon pag ganun. for me, evaluate yung washload nyo every 3-4 days, consider the household stuff din na nilalabhan then iweigh mo or tanchahin mo yung bulk. para maensure mo na sulit yung investment mo sa machine. HOPE THIS HELPS. Especially ngayon na nagtitipid tayong lahat due to the pandemic. #ctto
