When to stop giving porridge as a meal to babies?

My baby just turned 1, sometimes I give porridge / noodles / pasta. Wondering when should I stop giving porridge..?

Really depends on baby. My first hated to chew food so I continued giving porridge but included more bite sized protein and veges after 1 year old. My 2nd is a foodie and she hates mushy things so she alr started eating normal rice ard 7-8 months. I think if kid is alr able to chew noodles and pasta, rice is not a problem. Better start early to reduce aversion to more solid things.

Your baby will tell you! 🤣 at 12 months my baby haven’t grew in her molars yet. So I kept giving until 14months cause at that stage she refused porridge and wanted to eat rice. I think even if your LO is 2 years old and enjoys eating porridge it’s ok, just balance with textured dishes like meat and veggies!

I think as long as they eat other foods, it’s okay to continue giving them porridge or anything they are eating. For my son, there is a particular food he likes. We started giving it to him when he was 9 months and still continue as he likes it and it’s healthy. He is now 28 months old 😅

Thanks! Cos she eats other food but for rice, she does not like normal textured/soft rice, only porridge rice then can 🥹

It’s up to you. After my LO turned 1, I let her try out different varieties to let her explore what she likes and dislikes (she hates porridge but is okay with rice in soup 🤔).

Thanks!

can continue to add other staples also like rice, bread to let your chew practise chewing and build jaw strength

I still give at 14m why not. If want texture then cut the vege a little bigger like little cubes ?
