Swaddling always helps when baby is colicky and has difficulty sleeping. No matter how old baby is, my friend will occasionally swaddle baby lightly just to comfort and give baby that "safe" feeling he or she had when in the womb. Psychologically, swaddling will remind baby of how it used to be while they were safe in the womb and this could lend you some temporary relief. On top of swaddling, you can also rock baby gently or carry baby in a kangaroo style.
