Does your baby still have jaundice? Usually newborns with jaundice will tend to be sleepy all the time. Even if they are cleared from jaundice, newborns tend to sleep most of the day. Here are some ways you can use to wake your baby up: - unswaddle him - change diaper - hold him upright - sing a song and massage his hands, feet, arms and shoulder Since you are latching, the only way to monitor his intake is through wet diapers and that your baby is not dehydrated. During your 1st month check up, the GP or PD will also check his weight gain. This will roughly tell you if your baby is drinking enough. After 4 – 6 weeks, some babies stool less frequently, with stools as infrequent as one every 7-10 days. As long as baby is gaining well, this is normal. Wet diapers: Expect 5-6+ wet diapers every 24 hours
