I think it's useful as it prepares you mentally for the birth and subsequent caring for the newborn. Might be hard to remember everything that is taught, but at least you will know better what to expect. Also, it's a good avenue to ask questions and get answers from the experts. I went for the 4 day course by Dr Wong Boh Boi, and I don't regret my choice.
