Hi anyone's babies had UTI before? How long was your baby put on antibiotics and is it a must to go for MCU scan after that?

UTI is a common childhood illness, and worldwide, it has been reported to affect about 2 per cent of boys and 8 per cent of girls by the age of 7. When my baby had uti at 3 months going on 4, the doctor out him in on a 10 day antibiotic course. Do observe your baby when Yiu start antibiotic. I have heard of babies who are allergic to it.

Thanks my baby is on antibiotics for 6 weeks isn't that a bit too long? She is taking it thrice for two weeks and then once for rest of the four weeks. She has very loose stools from the antibiotics which the pharmacist did warn me about
