Drop side Cot

Can anyone advise on whether drop side cuts are dangerous? I’ve read they are banned in the US but retailers here in SG continue to sell them. As I’m petite, I would prefer a drop side cot for ease of putting baby down but am worried about the dangers. Can other mummies advise?

Super Mum

I bought a cor with a drop side, but I don’t leave it down. I fully agree with you that it’s easier to put baby down with the cot side down. But once baby starts rolling and exploring (3-4 months+), it can be dangerous if left down. If your baby sleeps soundly, then you can pull it back up easily. But both my kids were super sensitive to movement, so pulling the cot side back up woke them up. In the end, I stopped putting the cot side down. Alternativey, there are some cots that are much lower. That might be of help to you:)
