Here is a detailed Q&A why walker is not encouraged. http://sg.theasianparent.com/walker-advice-development/ It is not recommended to use baby walker. There is no evidence shows using baby walker will assist in walking development. Baby might walk tippy toes next time when off from walker. Also it is very dangerous as it might trip over and fall. There are recalls on baby walker http://www.babycenter.com/204_recalled-baby-walkers_10391634.bc I chose alternative such as baby playpen/play yard/exersaucer to confine baby if I need to attend to some housework.

Walkers are actually not advisable and are dangerous. KKH has advised against the use of walkers for babies. Instead, let your baby have more floor time on a playmat to explore and help him exercise his muscles by supporting him when he stands. http://www.kkh.com.sg/HealthPedia/Pages/GrowingUpWalking.aspx
