1. Mummies have to take medication/jab for the follicle growth to desired size 2. Daddies have to do sperm preparation by masturbating and contributing a good sample size 3. The 2 are put together for fertilization then transfered into mummy 4. Extra embryos collected will be frozen 5. Pregnancy will be determined 2 weeks later It's not an easy process as it can be quite draining mentally for both parents. Financial counselling also has to be done to advise you on the charges involved and how long the susbsidies last and whom they apply to. More detailed information is found on the KKH website: http://www.kkh.com.sg/Services/Women/KKIVFCentre/Pages/IVFICSI.aspx

I've been through the IVF process. It's been emotionally and financially draining. But totally worth it. My day 3 transfer was not successful, but my frozen embryo was. I put 2 frozen embryos in, one of it developed slightly faster than the other. Eventually only one of it stuck - guessing it was the one that developed faster to become blastocyst that was successful. I'm now 34 weeks preggie now!

I stumbled upon this blog of a breast cancer survivor who illustrates medical procedures through cartoons. She shared one that illustrates the IVF procedure and it's really informative. Thought I'd share it here :) Here's here blog: http://magsblog.com/about-this-blog/
