How long to do tummy time

For 1 - 2 months old, how long and how often should i let my baby do tummy time in a day? Do i still continue when he cries, and do i tilt his head to the side if he’s face down when he tries to lift his head up? Scared he might suffocate

We only started to do TT “religiously” when baby is around 3 months old and looking stronger haha. She’s fine, rolling at 4 month. Before that, it’s just like a fun play, for less than 1 min each time. We helped to cushion her chin with our palm whenever she faced downwards.
