Toddler refuses to sit on car seat

Any mummies facing this issue or is it just part of terrible two symptoms? My son recently don't want to be strapped on the car seat, he only wants to sit on the passenger seat. How to overcome this?

Mine also does the same. We have tried bribery of all sorts: food, Spotify / YouTube, toys, books. Now he will either sit or stand beside me at the backseat until I convince him to sit in the car seat.
