Test Kit Negative

My last period is on the 27 January and my period cycle is typically 28 to 30 days. I have miss my period which suppose to be of latest 27 Feb. Have been testing with pregnancy test kit but result is negative. I know some may ask why not go to the clinic for a more indepth test but I want it to be a surprise for my hubby via the test kit result. Anyone experience this? I did experience pregnant symptom such as tender larger breast, morning sickness in the beginning of this month, drastic mood swing and poor digestion. You kind advise is appreciated.
