Switching formula

Hi FTM here, my 4 weeks LO is having Lactogen 1 currently, ytd was the first time I try to offer him Nan Optipro twice out of 8 feedings. And I realise that he is having diarrhoea, stool is mustard yellowish and smelly. Does it mean that the Formula does not suit him? LO did not vomit or reject when feeding, pls advice if I should continue giving the new formula ? I’m so worry when I see him having diarrhoea :( #firsttimemom

Continue with Lactogen if there's nothing wrong and don't change unless baby vomit, pooping alot and colour of poop is different unusual.

Should i see a doctor?

Im a first time mum and i am clueless for when i should seek for a paediatrician. I have recently consulted doctor at KKH when my 1 month old son was admitted last week. Told that its fine to change formula. Previous formula was Enfamil GentleEase. Had to change as it always ran out of stocks and very hard to get at physical store. Now changed to NAN SupremePro HA. And my baby’s poop is like this.. is this okay? :/ help me out pls

Should i see a doctor?

Should the baby poop be inconsistent like different colour, often pooping within hrs apart after changing diaper then get it change to other brand like similac, dulex/dumex, nan optipro, etc. You can buy in small tin and see if there's poop changes. Having green/yellow with watery kind like poop perhaps your little one not use to the formula. However, it can also mean that they are lactose intolerant hence they need to change.

Sterilising milk storage bottles

Hello mummies! I am currently using milk storage bags to store my expressed breastmilk and I’m thinking of switching to milk storage bottles instead as the bags are one-time use (quite wasteful) and expensive (I pump 8 times a day so 1 month’s worth of bags cost me over $30). But I noticed that most milk storage bottles like Autumnz are only PP material, and not PPSU or glass, which means I cannot use my UV steriliser to sterilise the milk storage bottles. How should I go about sterilising PP milk storage bottles then? TIA!

Slightly Watery Stool

Hi mummies, I’m a first time mum, and I noticed my son’s stool is not the usual stool he has daily basis. Previously he had greenish strand of mucus in his stool which i have already consulted doctor @ KKH. Said that its normal. Today my boy had mild fever, and started to have these type of stool. Is it diarrhea? He poops about 2 times today. Both had the same consistency. Pasty and watery. My son is BM & Formula Fed. Pls advise. Thank you 🥺🥺

Breastfeeding tips

Any suggestion in getting more milk for breastfeeding mom .. Mine getting lesser after my son reach 1 month..

Drink more water/soups and nurse/pump frequently. If you feel that your milk is too thick, try taking sunflower lecithin. Most importantly, don’t stress (absolute milk killer!). Not enough, then supplement with FM (mix feeding) while you build up your supply. 😊

Hi mummies, my baby is 3wks+.. Been alternating breastmilk and formula daily. Baby drinking 100-120ml every 2-3hrs.. Is that too much?

Every baby is different so no one can tell you if it’s too much or too little. If baby is taking it well, no frequent spit ups or vomiting/discomfort after drinking then I’ll continue feeding as per what you’re feeding now. If frequent spit ups and vomiting after drinking, reduce 10ml. Adjust from there (+5ml).

Nasal congestion in newborn

Hello everyone!! Just wanna have a quick check if any mommies here have tried giving their little one Lactogen 1 formula milk. Any feedbacks on the milk? Bcoz my little bubs seems to have phlegm after having this formula for a couple of days and now she is 20 days old. Still having noisy phlegm. Thought of changing to another formula slowly (any recommendation) bcoz I dont wish her to constipate too if we sudden switch to new formula. Pls help this 1st time mama!! #firsttimemom #advicepls #pleasehelp #firstbaby

I used NAN Optipro HA for my baby (also given by TMC), no issues for her. However, it may not work on every baby. If you have friends feeding NAN Optipro, try to ask them if they can let you try some first in case baby cannot take it.
