HL MC UNFIT FOR DUTY

Has anyone here given HL by gynae but it says “unfit for duty” instead of clearly indicating as HL? How to tell gynae to indicate HL? My gynae doesnt seem want to indicate it as HL.

if it’s not indicated then it’s not HL, it’s sick leave. perhaps your gynae not willing to give

(Help) Any mummies whose kids are not in infant are?

Meaning you are taking care of your family members help you take care of baby? What are the pros and cons putting your kids in infant care? I don't know if I should put my child in infantcare or let my mil to take care. My mil is old but she is very excited to take care of baby lol. But if I put baby in infantcare, I have lots of free time to myself for rest and no need to face my mil.... 😆 Can advise pls ?#firsttimemom #advicepls #pleasehelp

Me, but no family members or helpers to help. So if I’m sick, i have to luge myself to get up and take care. For early IFC stage, i personally think it’s good for working mums who have no one to take care of baby incase they can’t apply enough leave. Later part, can build up social skills for LO in IFC. I would totally put my baby in IFC if I were to choose between IFC or MIL. Excited to take care and physically fit to take care is two different things. You also have to consider things like you may not like the way she handle baby, feeds baby etc etc. I would just put baby in IFC, if you want to rest, just rest. If you intend to find PT while baby is in IFC, it is also your freedom :) Just let your MIL know that even if baby is in IFC, she can still visit baby anytime (Assuming weekends). 😊

Hi does anyone experience 2 times OGTT? I took mine when i was 10 weeks gestation. Have to take early coz i'm under high risk pregnancy due to my previous one. And I have GDM bt under diet. Now im at week 29 and they booked appt for me to GDM clinic to take my blood again.

Perhaps your first test was for what youve mentioned. However for the 29 weeks it is mandatory as most mummie will do it either at 28/29 weeks. This will be 3 times of blood taken within 1 hr gap each.

Do we need to buy different brands of milk powder to standby ?

In case newborn baby don't like to drink a specific brand. Or should we follow the brand of milk powder the hospital give to newborn baby ? So must standby different brands at home (it's a waste of money ) just for trial and error ) I think.

I gave what the hospital gave since baby have no issues. So no need to buy, in the event if they cannot take certain brands, the hospital will give another brand to try out.

Cervical cerclage

Hi does anyone experience cervical cerclage before? May I know issit painful when they remove the stitches? Tq

The doctor will “cut the ribbon” right before the delivery. You won’t feel it as it is part of the delivery process.

First time mum jitters.

Hi mummies, I am a FTM. I am very worried I don't know how to take care of newborn baby after my confinement nanny left when her contract ends. I wish to renew her contract to help me longer but I can't due to financial constraints. I am very very nervous about taking care of newborn baby alone. My hubby can help out but sometimes some men are clumsy and insensitive to newborn needs, right? Can you all advise me how to be more confident and less afraid to take care of newborn without experience?#pleasehelp #firsttimemom #advicepls

All first time mum will feel the nervous, anxious, jitters esp when you have newborn, first night together. I would advice since you have confinement nanny, you may learn from her the daily needs, wants, cry, dos dont about caring for newborn. Try to sleep a day or two with your newborn. Try to handle your newborn while she's around. Why? Because it helps and one way or another you will learn to be confident. Though it is about trial and error of being with a newborn atleast you know your newborn and bonding will be stronger. For my first born, I do have helping hand from parents but baby sleep with me and spouse, we handle everything on our own, trust instinct. It helps alot and we learn.

When should I get breast pump? I will be doing my confinement in a confinement centre, they advise me not to buy it first, same as my friend coz they said it depends on everyone’s condition some may not have much milk for their first pregnancy… Should I get one? What is the recommended brands and models? I would love to feed my LO with breast milk… Is there any way to boost lactation?#firsttimemom #breastpump #breastmilk #lactation

I would get one on standby because not every one is blessed with good supply (like me🥲). At least if baby is still not full from latching (or if we still dk how to latch well), at the very least they can still syringe feed baby your pumped out bm. However don’t need to stress, you can still formula feed baby while you build up your supply. Don’t need to stress over it, the more you stress the worse the supply :) I am using babyexpress bemine for early days, then BeFree (handsfree) after that. Also, do remember to get the lactation consultant to measure your flange size (to get flange inserts). Drink more water and soups, don’t skip feeds/pumps sessions (if baby sleep past your feeding/pump session, you can either pump or hand express, don’t stress. 😊 If you’re not blessed with good supply from the start, don’t feel dejected. Your supply will eventually go up as long as you pump and latch regularly.
