Feeling overwhelmed?

Any ftm feeling overwhelmed as a sahm? I am feeling mentally and physically exhausted, particularly my LO, who was unwell and being hospitalised for a few days. Yet the other half and my only sister made me feel that I shouldn't feel tired because I am not a full-time working mother. Turned to her for ranting but got suan. My sis is a mom of 2 and has been working, so to her, what I am doing now is nothing. I doubt I could hold on to my emotions soon. And I felt so guilty for scolding my LO....

It’s normal to feel overwhelmed as a SAHM, especially with no helper or in laws to help. Our job don’t have off days, don’t have proper lunch breaks, don’t have proper toilet breaks, especially if baby is those that cannot stand seeing you taking a break (like mine). Household chores falls on us, baby needs us 24/7. People always think that we have nothing to do since baby sleeps all day. Baby sleep, we need to do housework, need to pump, when finally done, baby wakes up. When you finally get to eat a proper dinner, they say you enjoy life. No one sees all these, all they see is “she stay home shake leg, wait husband feed.” And husband’s thinking is “stay at home, of course household chores and baby is your job because I’m feeding you.” Because we’re with baby 24/7, we experience all their meltdowns. People only play with baby for a short period of time so they think baby is an angel, easy to take care. When baby sick, who stay up late and keep waking up to take care? Naturally all thrown to the one “staying at home”. Plan a trip with your friend/solo, like a 3D2N, inform your husband the dates, ask him to arrange his leave and leave, let them experience what you’re going thru everyday to see if it’s really nothing to do. I think by day 2, your mil will be at your place already. For your sister, no need to bother about her. So only working then got the rights to feel tired? Try asking her work 365 days, 24/7 at office then. Unless you’ve been thru the same situation, you have no rights to judge or comment.

Tula front facing

May I know when can LO front-facing when using tula? She doesn't like rear facing with infant insert...

ought to have strong head and neck control, and tall enough to have face fully clear the top of the body panel while being seated in the carrier

My baby is almost 8 months old. He’s teething this month and had mild flu. He’s refusing milk (formula bottle) during every feed. I’m stressed as he’s losing weight and always cranky. Any advice how to encourage him to drink?

it's tough when they r both teething & ill... perhaps he can try other food options since he's past 6mo... hope this phase passes real soon

High Risk for Trisomy 21, 18 and 13

I am a mum-to-be at age 45 Have 3 healthy kids, with my 3rd child born 10 years ago Had a natural miscarriage last September Done some research on down syndrome and I know that it will not be easy But I have decided to keep this precious baby Wanna see if any mummies can share experience with me and encouragement to keep me going

Stop pumping bm

Any mummies chose to stop bm when LO turns 7mths? Do you feel guilty? My bm supply is getting lower n lower. I am thinking of stopping it... yet people are saying I'm selfish to think for myself

I’ve pumped for 18m (to slim down and maintain my weight), but still I get comments saying that bm is useless after 4m and baby should eat solids instead. Unless they are the ones producing the milk, waking up at odd timings to pump on your behalf (not donor milk), who are they to comment right? Be harsh if you need to, ask them to mind their own business. Regardless whether you pump or don’t pump, there will always be naysayers. Decide what is best for your own sanity and wellbeing. This is your body, your choice, nobody has the rights to put you down. Bm or formula, end of the day, everybody eats solids and fed is best.

When should I start letting my LO to drink plain water?

I gave bit by bit at 6mo (usually after solids then give few sips).

LO not interested in purees

Hi FTM here. I started giving my baby sweet potato puree once she hit the 6m mark but she didn't swallow, and gag a little. Next weekend I gave apple puree and she gagged. This weekend I gave potato puree and gagged again. Is it something worrying? 2 more weeks she will be 7m alr but like still not really eating pureed yet!! Thanks!

Maybe u try add a bit of breast milk or formula and make it a bit diluted first until she’s more familiar with the taste and texture

(Urgent) UV Sterilize Pacifier

I've been UV sterilizing my LO pacifier for months.. until today it suddenly hit me that maybe it cannot be UV sterilized. I went to search and really it's not recommended as it will damage the material.. Now I'm feeling so so guilty is it gonna affect my bb health using the pacifier?? Thanks..

If the pacifier is silicone material, it’s actually fine (same as bottle teats/breast pump parts). It will just turn yellow fast (so recommended to put at lower rack). Just not recommended to put latex/rubber material into uv sterilizers.

Low supply of BM

Anyone experiencing low supply of BM and menstruation started as early as 3mths from due date? Max 40ml of BM pumped in 8hrs, or 5ml/10ml in 3hrs... I drink at least 1.5litres of liquid everyday. Feeling guilty and demoralising seeing low supply of BM but others moms are complaining of having too much bm..

I also 10ml only. So decide not to stress myself n jus give whatever I hv. Spend more time w baby more impt
