My baby had her first teeth when she was 10 months old even though she had been teething for more than 5 months. For five months, everyday we used to wake up in the morning with the hope of seeing two pearls on the toothless grin :D Usually, the first teeth to come are the incisors -- either the top two or the bottom two. Watch out for teething though -- it can be quite painful for some kids. Specially, the eruption of teeth through the jaw can be harsh sometimes. If you suspect your baby to be in pain, there are oral gels you could use on her jaw to soothe her.

Teething can begin as early as 4 months, but most babies usually get their first tooth/teeth when they are 6 months. Teeth usually come in pairs -- Theit central incisors grow out first. The bottom front two teeth will usually show up first and this is followed by the top ones.

The bottom middle teeth typically emerge first, between five months and 10 months. Tooth development is hereditary, so if you got your teeth early, chances are your baby will too.
