What is your take on outsiders telling off your child in public? Do they really have this kind of duty towards our own children?

Frankly, anybody in their right mind will not tell other people's kids off, especially if the parents or grandparents is/are there. If maid was with the child, maybe the stranger will tell the child off if maid is incapable or distracted. Yet again, the stranger could have not been in his right mind or the child was being a plain nuisance and no one is restraining the child. I think sometimes parents also need others help in controlling the kids. I would use the opportunity to teach my kids how they are disturbing or harming others so they should stop it - and how would they know what I say is true if no one is disturbed? - that said, provided the child is at fault after some investigation Well, I prescribe to the theory that it takes a "village to raise a child". But everybody has different parenting style and preferences so maybe u won't feel the same as me :)
