What are the necessary skills that my child should have before entering Primary 1?

I would think that, by the time a child starts Primary 1, he or she should already know basic Math skills (simple addition, subtraction), spelling (at least basic words and his/her name), social skills and some form of independence to weather through longer hours in school compared to his/her time in kindergarten.
