1yo baby milestone

We went for injection today. The doctor commented on how my baby is still not saying words like “mama papa” and waving goodbye or pointing at objects. Our baby just turned 1 and has started walking without assistance. Baby is healthy and active, would smile, clap, make eye contact and raise up hands when we offer to carry. Nothing much. Just feel kinda defeated. Anyone care to share their thoughts or experiences? #FTM #newmom

the doc commented on my baby for not walking instead - she is currently walking alot more than she was a month ago on her first birthday check up. but she's able to wave goodbye, points objects but not being able to clearly say mama and papa but she understands words. i personally feel defeated for baby who can walk HAHAHHAA but honestly....don't beat yourself up mummy. every baby will eventually reach their milestones - earlier or later. i was advised to continue interacting as she will have her speech tested during her 18 months checkup. i don't like this pressure but i just want this to be done and over with 😮‍💨

my #1 didn't start talking until she started PG. now she's 3, talking like a pro. the polyclinic doc was worried about her speech during her 18m CDS check. all kids will reach their milestone eventually.
