Baby playpen

Was just wondering any mummies let your baby sleep in a play pen? And if you does, how long do you let him/her sleep till? Like 1 or 2 years old?

Currently my 1 year old boy sleeps in a hexagon shaped playpen. We customised the mattress. Planning to let him sleep in the playpen till he’s old enough to not fall from the toddler bed (not sure when)
