Hello all! Question: Can a membrane sweep really kick start labour? How fast is it?

The sweep is more likely to be effective when you’re already slightly dilated I think. I was 2cm dilated, but without any contractions. When they do a proper sweep, it’s very painful (you feel like they’re tearing something inside)... so I don’t know if sweeping at 37 weeks is worth the pain for the lower chance of success...😅 unless you’re already starting to dilate

supposedly but it doesn't work for me hahha i just felt uncomfortable for me to walk after the sweep. dr did on fri, sun admitted for induced, mon delivered. basically the sweep did nothing for me 😂 its by chances i supposed

My gynae told me 50% chance within 24 hrs. Worked for me both times. Heh
