suitable books for baby
parents, what books are you giving for your baby? Can I have some suggestions?
Oooo my fav topic! Its nice to have soft/texture books and black and white ones but they will be useful for a month or two at most! So maybe get one or two for baby to squeeze n touch and they might even put it in the mouth so i always wash/wipe clean no soaps. Anyways I always recommend board books usually around our palm size ones and the pages are nice n thick to practice page flipping. Theres a variety so usually its nice to get simple pictures, colours, even numbers. But dont skimp on story books because u will be doing the reading. And repetitively reading e.g. the very hungry caterpillar gets the groove going! David NO! Gruffalo. Rhymes always help too. Remember story books can get draggy and monotonous so just dilute the words but keep the rhymes n repition as much as u can. Once baby starts walking, mine just walked away when i lose her attention. Dont forget to grab some books on emotions and feelings too. I was pleasantly surprised that my 7 month old started to mimic facial expressions when i said the feeling and went to hobble over to grab the book. Like how?! Also do prepare a safe mirror for exploring to connect with said books. My fav interactive book is Herve Tullet dot books. At nine months baby walked around the house looking for dots and mimic the sounds ( i got the say zoop at first) so its funny to see her connection of the book to her world. She went 'oh' on moles and little specks everywhere😂 Also can extend this simple story with dot stickers or dot markers for example. At one years old we had more than 50 books which was reshuffled in the bookcase so really managed the novelty. Probably will last us a couple more months before we rely on book borrowing haha. Dont forget ur classic storybooks (soft pages) just maybe dont let baby touch those meanwhile because torn pages 😞
Read moreHi there! Congrats on your little one on the way! Books are such a great way to bond with your baby and help them learn. For newborns, high-contrast board books are perfect. As they grow, you can introduce soft cloth or plastic books that they can touch and explore. Simple picture books with bright colors and basic shapes are also great for their developing eyesight. Some popular choices include "Goodnight Moon" by Margaret Wise Brown, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle, and "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" by Bill Martin Jr. Also, don't forget about interactive books with textures, flaps, and sounds to keep them engaged. Happy reading with your little one! https://invl.io/cll6she

Depending on the age, perhaps u can get picture books (animals or colors), then slowly u can get simple reading books for u to read to them. Can browse in the library first before u purchase!
You can start with cloth crinkle books, then can progress to board books. Can go search in Shopee, there are many shops selling baby books.
Looking for recommendations also from the kind parents!
