Feed baby every 3 hrs or by demand

For newborn, a week old, do you feed them strictly every 3 hours, even when theyre sleeping or just feed on demand, only when he wakes up and starts crying or showing signs of hunger ? Especially night feedings. And by on demand usually roughly how many hrs ?

by demand. i would say the first 6 months are by demand. aft baby turns at least a month old, you would be able to tell their cues and they will be able to signal their cues better.
