KKH’s diabetic specialist unavailable due to DORSCON Orange

Hi mums, I’m diabetic and at week 25 of pregnancy. I am supposed to be seeing a diabetic specialist at KKH (which they get from TTS for patients that are under subsidy). But due to the DORSCON Orange situation right now, no doctors are allowed to visit other hospitals to consult. As a result, I haven’t seen a diabetic specialist for 2 months now, and I’m not sure if I need to start insulin soon or what... Anyone got suggestions on how I can see a diabetic specialist without paying private practice prices?

You should try to call in and ask them to arrange for you! They can make special arrangements, just like mine. BP problem. And also KKH doctor to see for blood pressure is from TTSH. So they stopped the Doctors from TTSH to KKH. But yet they make arrange to let me see blood pressure specialist! You should call in and arrange soon!!

Thanks for the tip, called this morning, they can’t do anything abt it, so I made appointment at private doc at Mt E immediately.. The doc I saw there was also wondering why KK didn’t start me on insulin months ago.. my morning readings are too high since I’ve been on maximum metformin dose for months already.. 😢 Somehow I just feel KKH is not that well equipped to handle high risk cases, they are just barely adequate..
